Recognizable stage and screen star Anna Kendrick opened up about her role in the hotly anticipated stage-to-screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s celebrated family-friendly fairy tale-themed musical INTO THE WOODS as part of a new interview.
The witty and winsome star shared a story about her initial reaction to being cast in the project by director Rob Marshall as well as commented on the character she plays in the film, Cinderella.
Asked if she ever anticipated that she would actually get the coveted role, Kendrick replied, “Never in a million years!”
Kendrick continues, “That’s the first thing – when Rob Marshall offered me the job, that’s the first thing I did.”
Kendrick clarified, “I e-mailed him and said, ‘I’m gonna wear a g*ddamn ballgown, are you kidding me?!”
In another recent interview, Kendrick also concluded of the Disney tentpole movie musical, “What I am doing right now with INTO THE WOODS is so magical – every day is so magical.”
